Botox®

Over time, the contractions of facial muscles result in wrinkles and furrows in the skin that can make us appear older than we are. Botox® gives a rejuvenated look by relaxing the muscles of the face, smoothing lines around the mouth, between the eyebrows, across the forehead, and down the neck. Botox® is the brand name of botulinum toxic A, a highly purified muscle-relaxing agent whose wrinkle-preventing effects generally last about four months (though some patients see results extending up to a year).

Since 2007, Botox® is the most commonly performed cosmetic operation in the United States. The procedure takes about 15 minutes and requires no antiseptic; and the results begin to appear within days. Effects tend to last about 4 months (though some patients report results lasting a year), when your body naturally . It was first used for cosmetic purposes in 1989 and was approved by the FDA for use with moderate-to-severe frown lines in 2002.

Juvéderm®

Juvéderm® gently reverses many signs of aging in the face, including fine lines and wrinkles, crow’s feet, thin lips, and loosening skin. It is an injectable gel that restores volume to the skin and softens deep wrinkles and folds. It can also be used for lip augmentation and to fill in hallow areas or scars on the face. Made largely from hyaluronic acid (a substance normally found in the skin and muscles), its consistency allows for easy injection and instantly natural results.

The session typically lasts about an hour: first a local anesthetic is injected for your comfort, and the actual application of Juvéderm® takes about 30 minutes. Effects are immediate and last about 4 months (though some patients report results lasting a year), when your body naturally metabolizes the gel. Juvéderm® started its cosmetic use in Europe in the mid-1990s, before being approved by the FDA in 2006.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases, and scars by augmenting the body’s natural collagen supply. It is composed of microspheres of calcium hydroxlapatite that stimulate the production of collagen. It is a safe, effective, and long-lasting alternative to injectable collagen and other dermal fillers, not only for smoothing wrinkles, but also adding volume and contour to the face. Like Botox® and Juvéderm®, it is metabolized naturally by the body over time.

The session typically lasts about an hour: first a local anesthetic is injected for your comfort, and the actual application of Radiesse® takes about 30 minutes. Effects are immediate and last about 4 months (though some patients report results lasting a year), when your body naturally metabolizes the water-based gel. The FDA approved Radiesse® to restore or correct signs of facial lipidatrophy (fat loss in the face) in 2006.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive spa procedure that rejuvenates the appearance of the skin. It uses a gently stream of tiny particles to exfoliate the outer layer of skin, leaving fresh, younger-looking skin. This treatment diminishes the appearance of scarring, hyperpigmentation, pore-size, fine-lines, and generally improves the overall skin texture.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) offers a non-invasive, safe and effective solution to skin aging by restoring a youthful appearance. It evens skin tone by targeting pigmented and vascular lesions such as age spots, sun damage, spider veins of the face, and rosacea. As treatment is based on light absorption in melanin and hemoglobin, treatments are most efficient in patients with light skin who are not sun-tanned at the time of treatment.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a safe, non-surgical technique to treat small- to medium-sized “spider veins” which lie just below the surface of the skin. A special sclerosing solution is injected into the vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body. This results in veins that are significantly less visible on the skin’s surface, as well as relief from the swelling and pain associated with enlarged veins.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels remove the outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes to produce healthy, glowing skin. There are several types of chemical peels that vary in strength from alphahydroxy to trichloroacetic acids. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Chemical peels are used to treat acne, brown spots, melisma, and wrinkles.
